Ramping up their celebrity designed can promotion, Pepsi is now running a competition for anyone to create a design for a Pepsi-Cola can. The Design Our Pepsi Can promotion gets fame on half a billion cans in the US plus $10,000 in prize money. Certainly a lot less than package design agencies would get for the work.
The Pepsi globe logo and name lettering will stay the same but the background graphics will be up for grabs. In over 100 years of Pepsi-Cola, its look has changed 10 times. In 2007 the company says it will change more than 35 times.
