The free paradigm

Here’s a Nokia World conference keynote speech from Wired’s editor Chris Anderson. He elaborates on one of the concepts I believe is at the heart of future media. It’s the concept of low cost or virtually free services. Advertising media has often been free to consumers in the past (tv, radio) and is increasingly free now and into the future (web, newspapers). Anderson looks at the history of this economic model and where it will lead as services like data storage become free to all intents and purposes. And yes, there’s even a look in for my pet hobby horse - the free mobile phone call.
