Fake movie trailer sells Hailey book

Hailey bookBook marketers are increasingly creating book videos which are cheaply produced and uploaded to clip services like YouTube. Author Joseph Hailey has gone just a bit further. Well, a lot further.

To launch his book, he’s produced a video with the look and feel of the trailer for a major motion picture.

Before writing his snappily titled thriller “U.S. Archives, Vol. 1 - The Run For Crystal Palace”, Hailey was a makeup artist in the movie industry. He was even head of makeup on the iconic 80’s tv series Dallas. Hailey used the film crew around him to write, direct and produce a one minute book video that delivers the production values usually only seen in big budget movies.

Hailey tells us:

“We wanted to create a video that had some value in its own right. Something that would be more than just a blatant commercial. We wanted to make a “mini-movie” that would communicate the excitement of the storyline, and the personality of the characters in the book.”

This idea appeals to MediaSoon’s excitement about mixing things up, media wise. At MediaSoon we count this as a great creative media buy, even if there is something not quite right about the voice over’s British accent towards the end. And the author’s name is coincidentally similar to Aurthur Hailey. Or is that Joseph Heller? Anyhow, take a look:
