According to speakers at last week’s CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment 2006 conference, audiovisual advertising will soon be commonplace on mobile phones.
Some claimed that advertising is the only way mobile providers can afford to carry multimedia content on their services.
New pricing plans will develop that allow mobile users to view multimedia content so long as they viewed advertising material first. With new generation high speed networks, the traditional 30 second ad will find new life, albeit minituarised.
US youth targeted 3G operator Amp’d Mobile has recently agreed terms with Procter & Gamble to deliver advertising on its video services.
