Moviebakery pays YouTube producers to make ads

Moviebakery is farming the best amateur video clip producers appearing on services like YouTube and inviting them to pitch for real advertising projects. Swiss International Air Lines are amongst the first projects to go live, featuring videos created by Moviebakery producers to highlight their summer vacation specials. The company claims that 10 ideas turned into 10 videos by 10 different producers can cost just €10,000 or $ 13,000, whilst movie makers end up with €500 or $650 each.

The outfit is under the umbrella of Conceptbakery, owned by Cologne brothers Klaus and Felix Holzapfel, with Klaus running the Denver, Colorado based arm of the operation. Klaus tells us:

“The users at YouTube & Co. have shown to the world that they can turn great ideas into great videos - all on a budget with widely available technology”

Meanwhile, his bro’ Felix in Germany tells us:

“Each video producer applies with moviebakery and we review their reference projects before they get admitted to our talent pool. This process ensures the required amount of creativity and technical knowhow for our clients.”

Clients get access to a large pool of talented video producers with a huge amount of raw creativity, whilst the process is managed by a professional agency. Moviebakery says producers get a fixed € 500 or $ 650 plus an optional bonus for “top performing” videos. So it looks like the boys split the cash 50/50 with a tip for good work.
