UK customers of mobile network Orange are to get free minutes from this summer if they agree to listen to advertising messages. The system comes from Blyk which aims to be the first pan European advertising funded mobile network. It will offer customers free mobile phone calls and texts in return for receiving advertising on their mobile handsets. Major brands like Buena Vista, Coca-Cola and L’Oreal will be among the first advertisers to use the Blyk network when it launches in the UK this summer. Blyk was co-founded in 2006 by Finns Pekka Ala-Pietilä and Antti Öhrling.
