Xerox cover photos personalise Wired

Xerox Wired personalised cover mock-upWired is using Xerox to let subscribers put their own photo on the cover of the magazine. Magazine subscribers can go online and upload a photo. The first 5,000 will receive the July issue of the magazine with their image on the cover.

After the first 5,000 subscribers have done their stuff, anyone will be able to go to the online site to create their own virtual cover. Users will be able to submit a photograph, change the headline and change the colour palette.

Wired’s Publishing Director, Drew Schutte, tells us:

“Wired is always looking for ways to partner with advertisers and showcase innovative brands. The mission of both the magazine and wired.com is to be the first word in how technology is changing the world. This innovative program built for Xerox is exactly the kind of opportunity we can now offer.”

The digital printing technology comes from the Xerox iGen3 110 Digital Production Press, along with PersonalEffect software, a result of Xerox’s recent acquisition XMPie.

XMPie develops software that allows graphic designers, marketing companies and print service providers to create personalised marketing materials that can include an individual’s name along with information and images based on buying preferences and personal interests.
